Blatantly Garish
NICK C. KIRK "CowPuncher" 2012 Acrylic, oil, enamel, ink on canvas. 60"x60" prints and giclee's available.

Come out June 23rd-Saturday night from 6-10 pm at Mokah Gallery near Deep Ellum in Dallas, Texas for the opening reception party of my latest body of work.  Over 10 large paintings, a first time ever-twenty foot collaboration, as well as a sculptural piece!  There will be limited edition prints and t-shirts for sell.  I will be giving away door prizes throughout the night as well.(must be present to win)  The party will include 10 local DFW DJ's playing all sorts of music on a four turntable setup!  Of course there will be some beverages and some home made salsa courtesy of my brother Mike.  Come enjoy the fun, all ages are welcome!

About a week ago I was sitting around wondering what I could offer to art lovers for absolutely free, but also make it interesting and fun.  I came up with the idea of hunting for artwork.  The age old game of hide and seek vs. treasure hunt.  I will hide a piece of work, t-shirt, etc and then post a clue on my webpage of how to find it.  Once you find it, contact me via my web page or facebook that you found it and send a photo of you with the piece.  Then you can either keep it OR bring it to an art show that I am exhibiting at and trade it in for another clue.  Each time you trade in a piece for another clue, the clues will get harder, and include pieces out of city or even out of state.(no guarantees you will find it)  They may be buried in the ground, on a roof, etc.  Pieces will vary from small drawings, stickers, t-shirts, large paintings, bronze sculptures and more.  I will always post a photo of exactly what you are looking for.  I will hide a piece once a month!
Art-Hunt #1 Clue:  Blatantly Garish with a Mokah or two.  Where you come and go to see works anew.  If big brother can see it, look up, so can you.
(updated July 1 - still not found - hint - it's right outside the Mokah Gallery doors)

Art-Hunger.  Made by artists for artists and collectors.  Join for FREE!

Art-Hunger
Art-Hunger is the newest organization formed for both emerging and established artists who have the desire to show their artwork, sell, socialize, learn, share, network, practice their skills and gain more exposure.
Home base for Art-Hunger will be centrally located between Fort Worth and Dallas in Grapevine to try and bring all the talented DFW area artists together.  Art-Hunger will be hosting a once a month art show in Grapevine along with other shows both juried and invitationals.   The once a month shows are specifically made for all artists no matter the medium of choice you use.  We welcome all painters, sculptors, jewelers, ceramicists, weavers, glass blowers, shirt and textile artists, graphic artists, illustrators and more!  The venue(s) used will be indoors.  No worries about heat, cold, rain, wind or even lighting at night.  The facility will have air conditioning, heat, above lighting and electrical outlets!  The best part is: It's first come first serve every month as soon as the sign up page is posted!  No getting the boot because other artists who "know" someone, artists that you think may be more experienced or technical than you or any other reason..  Plain and simple, you sign up first, you get the spot!  The show will be one day/night only.  Registering will only be $30.00 per artist which will get you a 10'x10' space.  Show as much as you like, show as little as you like, show whatever you like, come to show or come to sell. (but please try to keep it child friendly-as all ages are invited)  There will be a limited amount of tables and display easel's for rent if you don't have your own.
Be sure to check back weekly and daily for new information on shows and events, as well as signing up for our mailing/emailing list and joining our facebook where we will post photos from every event as well as discount links.  Whether you're an artist with the hunger to step-up your art game or a collector looking for the next big artist, join the team, this is going to be BIG!
This is a great program to bring artists and collectors around the Metroplex together to share and enjoy art.  Check it out!
